I really want to do a less explicit, more narrative-focused coming-of-age/slice-of-life series featuring these boys that explores their developing relationship in their early days as well as where they ultimately end up.
Because I want to continue producing regular content as well, I've needed to explore ways to produce more work faster, which would allow me to create slow-burn works while being able to still juggle the content people originally signed up for.
This chapter is a trial run, to see how people feel about it, as well as how well it fits into a healthy workflow. The style might evolve a bit as necessary while I figure stuff out,
This is a risky project, because I know this isn't what most people necessarily signed up for. But I really want to make comics and tell stories, so I hope you'll indulge me.
The last page of SWL will be up ASAP, but I've been having a very rough go of things lately, re: anxiety, sleep, existential dread, etc. so I made the choice to focus on something new and see if that helps me, mentally π
I think things will definitely change as pieces fall into place. Maybe certain aspects of the art will tighten or slacken as they need to. I feel like maybe I'm trying too hard with certain backgrounds, haha. That's why I consider this first chapter to be something of a trial run.
Another thing I need to be on the lookout for are good neutral fonts for things like chapter titles. I'll definitely be doing some minor edits on this chapter once the overall style of the comic solidifies.
I know it's super lazy of me, but the first page is a homage to the Evangelion manga's opening. I feel like it's an efficient, if expository way to springboard Levi's character, and that manga as a whole influenced my art deeply when I was small. π
