@Wilfriback: the speech box where he states he's "adopted" doesn't exist in the original Korean version. In other words, he doesn't say it. Maybe the translator, who likely used AI, added it on, or maybe an unofficial english version tacked it on during editing. In the original, both the male and female characters are mother and son, since as you pointed out, the male character states that she gave birth to him. The "inseki" tag here isn't applicable.
