I've done a few similar projects to this now, and I have a recommendation for improvement. These types of image sets are usually published with textless versions.
If you simply take the version with text and layer it over the version without, you can erase the text seamlessly and put your own back in.
For semi-transparent bubbles like these, you can use a similar trick where you use a white, and play with the transparency until you find a match when painting over the existing bubble.
This is my own obsession bleeding through, but I also usually try to match the text to the original as much as possible.
