@RobDollar Sally is specifically tied to Archie’s Sonic which ran in the old days. Her creator had a falling out with the publisher and issued a cease & desist order that forbade her character and many others from ever being used in any modern media. Because of this, she’s effectively an obscured enough character that only older or hardcore Sonic fans would know about. Newer fans would have to go through the effort of digging up information on who she is since she’s no longer mainstream.

Actually, unless there was another creator who sued and forced sega to not use their characters, you're thinking of Ken Penders, who started writing for the comic well after sally was created as a character. She was initially created for the Saturday morning cartoon, not the comic.

Sadly, sega has little interest in using her regardless.
