I'm a few days late to this but what tf do you mean "Maybe reconsider in the future". Are you asking me to reconsider uploading raws or reconsider the community faith. Regardless, I disagree on both accounts.

If it's the former, I upload these raws because the deserve to be preserved And I refuse to let them be lost like Fuurai's "本日もいつも通り挟ませて頂きますが?" almost was. If it's the latter, Then you need to realize that these AI translations are the result A very select few bad actors. It would be extremely unfair to blame the entirety of a community for the sins of a select few. Admittedly I'm not part of the greater community here, But thus far I will say that the only "negative" Experience I have had is with select bad actors and NOBODY ELSE.

In your case, the best course of action would have been to hold the raw until the TL was done and post them at the same time, and I'd encourage anyone who intends on either working on or commissioning a TL of something to do the same.

I watch the front page more than most. That "select few" keeps growing more and more every month. It ain't so small anymore, and it's only getting worse. It's not even just an English language problem, the Chinese and Korean scenes are just as fucked, if not worse.

Admittedly I don't have a response to your AI claim. But I do have one your statement regarding raws.

I disagree with the claim that they should be held on to indefinitely until the english translation is done. In my opinion, the longer that the doujin isn't Uploaded, it will give people the impression that the book was forgotten about, or that no one WANTS to scan it. I felt this way regarding a few books, not just Fuurai's content. There are certain books that I'm convinced would not gotten uploaded under normal circumstances, like that one SFW Firefly book I scanned.

By uploading them as soon as possible, I'm trying to tell people that "No, these books aren't forgotten. There where scanned and remembered".

Besides, in my experience requesting English TLs, uploading raw's first to this site makes the scanlator's job much easier, as it gives them easier access to them, so there's also a practical aspect to uploading them beforehand.
