Hello, I’m back with another scanlation—this time more focused on removing black text from colored backgrounds rather than white ones. I started working with GIMP 3 using Resynthesizer and G’MIC, experimenting with a few attempts (some pretty rough) to erase the Japanese text. I didn’t publish those, preferring instead to take the time to improve and learn on my own. In the meantime, I’ve managed to get decent results with removing black text.
I also wanted to try translating the Japanese text and pairing it with Italian, but after just a few minutes I gave up because:
1. I don’t know Japanese at all.
2. I tried using various online “image-to-text” tools, but many times they either didn’t recognize the text, or the free trial ran out, so I had to jump to other sites (often less efficient than the first one, to be honest).
3. And then, you might say: “Use ChatGPT!” The thought did cross my mind, but I definitely don’t think I’ll do that, for two reasons: A) It’s gotten way too uptight and annoying after the recent updates. B) I’d have to subscribe, and honestly, for what I need, it’s just not worth the money.
That’s it—I hope you’ll enjoy my little project. Best wishes from Liquid King Productions.
