I'll just repost my old comment from mid year, before Mum dropped the pretense.

I know Marmalade Mum thought this was ratcheting the tension, but, instead, it was circuitous. Characters were sharing and re-sharing plot details, each time in a different tone with the hope of imitating comedic or dramatic effect.
This has become Scooby Doo, with the story halting periodically to remind us of the plot. Stopping to give the "special guest" a spotlight moment to repeat the same info never led anywhere and was, to use a barnyard joke, leading us by a carrot.
