In 1990, an unknown interdimensional space suddenly appeared in the mountainous regions of Japan.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the space led to another world — “Fetlasia.”

The people of Fetlasia possessed scientific knowledge far beyond that of humankind. They had created a perfectly peaceful society free from war and crime.

Their entire planet was unified under a single world government, where every citizen was managed by an integrated artificial intelligence system.

The social order in Fetlasia was maintained by unique methods — even utilizing restraint and pleasure as tools of governance.

The Fetlasians always wore full-body skin-tight suits, entrusting them with management of biological data and pleasure stimulation functions.

They also made everyday use of restraint devices that transcended physical laws, which had become both tools of social communication and means of enjoyment.

Through this culture and technology, the Fetlasians achieved a harmonious balance of order and happiness. Yet, to the Earth’s research teams, their civilization appeared ethically alien.

Before long, interstellar exchange began, and the Fetlasia–Earth Friendship Treaty was signed.
While the treaty aimed to promote mutual exchange of technology and culture, the introduction of Fetlasian “restraint culture” and “social control systems” sparked fierce opposition on Earth.

Conservatives, human rights organizations, and media critics condemned these systems as violations of human rights and denials of humanity itself. Eventually, public opinion reached 80% opposition, forcing the suspension of the plan to adopt the Fetlasian system.

However, one year after the treaty was signed, the situation changed drastically. Public opinion swung rapidly in favor of Fetlasia, and even former opposition leaders praised their technology as “a means to elevate humanity.”
No one understood the reason for this sudden shift — and the reports soon disappeared altogether.

Fifty years later, Fetlasian systems have become established in many regions of Earth. People now live peaceful, orderly lives.

Almost no records of the old resistance remain, and there is no one left to tell the story.
