Purchased on a spot sale on Mandarake as I've been looking for more of this series for a long while. Purchased in memory of Yoshida Masataka, who introduced me to this particular book series when he was among us:
An omnibus / collaborative doujin organized by Akira Hasama (Akira Usami sometimes, 羽佐間明) and Yuu Hizaki (Yu Hisami at times, 火崎幽) in 1981. This particular group was not a definitive circle, but a grouping of invited artists who were active in the late 70s/early 80s BL Aniparo scene. Included authors range from Jerry Asakura (who I covered last year with Side 3 while the latter was still in high school). Jerry is known as 'Julie Asakura' in this particular issue and is noted to have been the principal letterer , showing that their skills as an artist increased dramatically post 1979. Jerry also contributes an Ideon fan comic as well. Additional contributors include established artists such as Shio Sato (the novelist Simone Yotsuya) and Kazumi Takeda, who contributed to publications such as Animec, OUT and The Anime. The artists had been working since the late 70s and in 1980 proper.
Selection has been covered to a small degree and is known among Doujin collectors in particular, though many volumes are not available for sale and haven't been for almost 10 years now. While the group was active, there is no notice of them ever appearing at Comiket, as this book in particular has fan club registration numbers as well as a mail order catalog for other upcoming works by other circles. Dating in two colophons does not situate the works as being as such, but its not for certain as mail order/membership is clearly spoken about and boasted.
Many of the parodies are well drawn considering, and the printing is actually quite good.

Additionals:
I am assuming that this work was published in 1981 as vol. 1 was published in 1981. If so, this possibly came out in late 1981 as the book calls for manuscripts to be submitted by November of that year. Many of the manuscripts are from 1980, albeit late 1980s, and were probably made before this book was ever published and submitted rather late. I do not have access to books 2 - 3, but book 1 is definitely from 1981.
