The author tried to ‘balance things out’ by making the husband cheat too, just to justify the FMC’s adultery… she even gets a happy ending, remarried to her editor, with a daughter. While the husband couldn’t rebuild his life and still wanted revenge even after 5 years… Big joke ?

Toward the end, it started to get original, but no — just false hope and nothing more. They made the antagonist look like the hero again, and the ex-husband didn’t go all the way... It would’ve been so much better to see her suffer, but no... Yet another story that ends up feeling the same, as if the hero is the one who has to go through redemption. It’s just nonsense...

Kyoko actually wanted to form a family with the ex husband? Bullshit and the author knows it as his previous series had the other protagonist marry the heroine and raise someone else's child and still she cheated while protagonist's co-workers saw that the kid didn't look like him.
Here the author had to pull a cheating husband out of the blue to pretend "both are as bad" just when she felt like telling the truth about her affair with her editor now that since the ruined trip the husband got suspicious and their relationship went sour... but only the heroine gets rewarded for it.

But the real reason behind this kinda rushed final was the series didn't took off and didn't do well with it's sales. Ironic for a series about a mangaka couple isn't it?

What a lovely story!

You see, even love that basically started with harassment and blackmail, can be true and pure in the end! Because she was doing it for her husband's sake, it's not her fault that there was so much pleasure.
And, of course, a man that has no qualms about pressuring a woman for sex under the threat of not publishing her husbands work, is, deep down, an amazing man that loved her all along. He doesn't even have glasses anymore because glasses is usually a trope for the calculating, ruthless antagonist. But now he revealed himself to be a good man all along so his eyes sight is 20/20! Amazing!

And it turns out that the husband, who had nothing but bad luck and betrayal, turns out to be the worst all along because, after finding out his wife's infidelity, he did the huge betrayal of getting a blow-job from someone else. And he was so bad and broken that 5 years later, not only he is incapable of moving on, is life is in shambles but he considered murdering the heroine! She was right all along!

Another story that ends quite well! I, as man, am now certain that life will reward me if I use my power to pressure women into sex and undoubtedly I will find true love in such a way!

This author needs to hang it up cause, this isn't gonna get any better for them. They make long winded stories just to get to terrible conclusions and no matter what people say a bad ending to a long story can ruin an entire story. Just switch to dumb one offs and get your rent money. None of this making it better then it actually is bs.

Renji cheated on Kyoko as a means for revenge, after he started getting suspicious about Kyoko cheating pn him with her editor; Kyoko caught him the act but didn't get mad at it, she just bumbles her words on saying she came back early that day to make a home made meal, eating out isn't very healthy after all, which actually managed to piss Renji off as he wanted to get a reaction out of Kyoko, but since she isn't it meant his suspicions were pretty much confirmed. There he tries to make Kyoko confess her affair and Kyoko swears she will tell him everthing but Renji just gives up and drops the "For women, all it takes is spreading their legs for things to work out" line, never hearing of Kyoko's excuse (that she was doing for his sake, in her mind of course), so Renji came to believe Kyoko was screwing her editor to make her series shine, while his own was left to crater, so Renji immediately divorced her after that.

Renji wants to kill Kyoko in the end 5 years later because his life never recovered from his lowest point, he couldn't secure another publication since. Then he sees Kyoko pregnant with a second child, while talking with her first daughter, hearing Kyoko talking with her kid so innocently completely shatters his resolve, Renji realizes five years have truly passed, while he was stuck in the past, he then throws the knife away, giving up on the assault, before Kyoko ever realized he was there, although she thinks she might have seen a familiar face but shrugged off as her imagination.

Renji starts musing in sorrowful thoughts that he has no one left in his life, while looking at his phone Renji notices all the missed calls from his mother, he answers back and his mom immediately starts asking if he is fine, how she is worried about him, his health, how much she wants to see him. It ends with Renji coming to the self-realization that you only know much you cared about someone after losing them, as he reminisce the day he asked Kyoko's hand in marriage; that's when a glimmer of hope sparks and Renji replies to his mom that he will visit.

Damn, the story really ends not only with Renji being blamed, but he gaslighting himself to accept he was in the wrong after all, now that's misery. He should have listened to Kyoko though, doesn't excuse her acts but still... Well, at least mom cares, that's his consolation.
