Acquired from the moving sale of the mangaka C.P. Garlic, this text is a yaoi / BL doujinshi created by three male fans based on Otokogumi by Ryoichi Ikegami. Slated as a fanzine of sorts, this work features both gay short stories and comics - a rare text through and through, this work is an urobon (underground book) aka as a yamibon (shadow book / 'black market book') due to the fact that it was written and published by fudanshi and possibly even gay men. The group appears to have been in their late high school years or already in college. The main editor makes mention of having to cancel a prior project, possibly due to financial or social constraints, and boasted that the group would continue publishing works, having had already began manuscripts for another book itself.

This particular issue is a reprint of a prior title from 1980, published July 1st of 1981 to be sold at Comiket 18 (Yokohama Sanbo Hall). The artwork mirrors motifs found in very popular works by Shio Sato, however, the design ethos is carried over by queer / fudanshi mangaka in a very striking manner.

The main story arc is titled The Demon World Resurrection (Makai Fukusei (Jōkan) / 魔界復生（上巻)) based on the newspaper serialization of Futaro Yamada's work of the same name, which was serialized in the Osaka Shimbun newspaper from 1964 and published in book form in 1967. The title of the doujinshi itself is taken from a famous line in Otokogumi (https://mangapedia.com/%E7%94%B7%E7%B5%84-gvemu352t, explained here plainly).

This time, the story has finally entered its turning point—“The Fall of the Demon World, Volume 2”!
The most difficult part of this chapter was the scene where the main characters stand side by side.
I actually tried to stage it as if it were a live-action scene, thinking about the camera angles and such.

It took so much effort that I lost sleep over it!
But still, seeing it printed now makes me so happy.

Next up, we’ll finally get into “The Demon World Resurrection, Volume 3.”
It’s going to get even more intense, so please look forward to it!
