I acquired this in a lot of several vintage doujins last week. In particular, this book focuses on Godmars and Marg x Takeru Myojin (Mars) by the mangaka Natsuki Kojima under the pseudonym Hoshino Natsuki (星野 奈月). As a compilation of manga and a short novel / story, this is vol. 6 in a series of works that focus on Marg in particular, who appreciated a cult fame for being a beautiful bishounen boy during the early to mid 1980s.

As this book hails from 1986, its a particularly rare instance of a dedicated Marg work that was produced. Published July of 1986 for the Summer Comiket (August 10th, Harumi Fairgrounds).

Marg x Takeru works were fairly common despite the two being brothers, though this work doesn't have any explicit scenes sans for in the novel. Marg being depicted as feminine aligns with similar motifs of Garma Zabi's depiction around this time in doujin works.

Long time no see. Really!! It’s been a whole year.

This is BACK VOL. 6.
Did you think it wouldn’t come out anymore? …Or maybe you expected it wouldn’t?
(We never actually said it was ending, but still…)
Ahh, and now it finally comes out!

…Anyway, what kind of pace is this supposed to be?
Isn’t BACK supposed to be a summer issue?
Though honestly, when I think of having to rush around to gather material for it, I kind of get dizzy…
But yes, it’s summer!
And summer means GM!
(If I keep writing in this weird mood, my Japanese is going to fall apart…)

So then, the afterword.
What was I supposed to write again?
It’s been so long that I’ve forgotten.
Probably something about the suffering involved in putting out books… right?

Well, I, Hoshino, Natsuki, Ruruko, and Uroko—
we have all suffered through this.
To everyone who helped: thank you for your hard work.
I think it must have taken considerable effort for each of you.

This time, because of various circumstances, we had to sneak in manuscript work while holding down full-time jobs, sometimes working 16-hour days.
To live on the edge like that is… well… it was quite an experience.

But still—
Because you all read the book, I feel saved.
Even if you laugh at the mistakes, or the lack of pages, or the weird handwriting…
I still think of you with love.

I really don’t know what’s waiting for us ahead, or what might happen to us…
