Various items from my personal collection, mainly from the mid 1970s to the late 1990s. I will do another gallery of various loose items I own as my collection of these items spans at least 4 decades and is always growing. I don't get to share them often and have too many, so I figured I'd do so here.

Many items range from manuscript pages to newsletters to correspondence. Each one will be accounted for as I go in the comment section etc. Each item will be shown with its proper scaling. Some were done on my old scanner and I no longer have them, but I did document them.

I will update this gallery as I digitize my collection (I have hundreds of ads, flyers, manuscripts and more). Descriptions for all items will be in the comment section.

Current Master of the ongoing collection, updating as I go as information has since changed.:

Pages 1 - 4: Higotoro drawn by the mangaka JET, circa 1982 - 1983. Acquired from the collection of a friend to the artist, this is a manuscript page from a doujinshi. Front and back are shown for provenance.

Pages 5 - 6: A lithograph and a cleaned version of said lithograph from the artist Shio Sato (Haruka Sato / Simone Yotsuya) for the questionaire book 'Rest'. Released at the end of the life of Let's Play Around With Char as a circle, this was sold at Comiket. Acquired from M.

Pages 7 - 9: A flyer advertising the private illustrations of the mangaka Rio Yagizawa that were slated to be published for an invite only group. This flyer bears writing from Shio Sato to M with a thank you for hosting a club meeting at their then address in Yokohama. Acquired from M in 2024.

Pages 10 - 11: One of the earliest illustrations I have on record by Shio Sato of Char Aznable and Amuro Ray. Intended as possibly a "cut" for a fanclub publication, it was not ultimately used. This piece was given to M in the early to mid 1990s during a studio cleanout by the artist, who entrusted it to him. Screentone and ink on heavy body paper, it was done when the artist was 17 in mid 1979.

Pages 12 - 13: A hand drawn image of Char Aznable by the artist Jin Yamaoka, given to Shio Sato, who attended a showing at the Aichi Institute of Technology's animation festival. Ballpoint pen on paper, circa 1980 to 1981.

Page 14: An advertisement for the Daimos yaoi parody 'Royal Straight Flush', this is an exceedingly rare ad as the book has not gone to market as well as for the fact that it was a Daimos work made years after the series was broadcast.

Pages 15 - 16: An advertisement for recruitment and sale of Captain Tsubasa, Godmars and Saint Seiya doujinshi works. All three series would become pivotal in the shift from strict mecha & SF BL / yaoi works at Comiket and was thus included.

Page 17: A full color lithograph drawn by members of the circle NORMAL, one of the most important Aniparo yaoi Circles of the late 1970s to early 1980s. This was given out with a purchase for NORMAL's final issue as an imprint and Circle proper.

Page 18: A lithographed poster of Shio Sato and Setsu Iwasaki's work for On The Battlefield with the Circle Let's Play Around With Char, circa 1981. Large format, acquired from M.

Most items I acquired from various trips to Japan, auctions and from private sales. I have too many at this point, and there is a character limit here, however- a list is going. Each gallery will have 50 images max due to this. I will make a second gallery of 50 as time goes along per the character limit.

Love seeing all the stuff you upload. Its material like this that really sends up back in time and helps us gain an understanding on what the scene was like in Japan in regards to the anime/manga-related "otaku" scene. So many prominant artists were involved and lead to behind the scenes material being published. I look forward to future books/art. Keep up the great work.
