He's not really just a random character though. In Yuitama he's called Mokoda but he resembles a teacher that appears in the manga as part of the department of guidance called Naruiwa, so it makes sense to have a character who's a staff member besides the principal, especially considering the size of Sainan Academy. But yeah, I also would've preferred if the principal was the one featured in Yuitama, but I guess it make more sense to have a character that would be a more "immediate" antagonist to Yui whereas the principal would work better for say Yami or even Lala.
