I'm really not crazy about the lighting for this one. I think if they had some direct sunlight and white curtains for the backdrop, maybe change out the anime pillows for some solid color throws so they're less distracting... Really, thinking back on it, the anime often had a source of direct sunlight behind her or set her against a brighter background, so seeing her in what looks like a college dorm room in someone's basement feels off.
So many sets with good potential are let down by poor lighting and surroundings. I absolutely appreciate that the production value of some models is lower than others, and that the core audience is only interested in one thing, but getting some decent lighting (be it natural or well managed interior lighting) makes such a massive difference, and doesn't seem like it would be too hard, especially if you end up reusing the same space for each shoot you do.
