So either the BF was really a scumbag who was playing around while his GF was literally selling her body for his sake and career's future or he got set up, either way he got demoted from his position and implied she broke up with her BF and became the oportunistic manager's plaything and she no longer cares as she is heart broken.

Nvm at page 47 borrom panel the manager got a call from the girl Tanaka who was the one voice over the phone when the MH was calling her BF so yeah, it was a set up and MH fell for it and page 48 reinforces it when other workers say "Tanaka got transferred to the company TOGETHER with the new manager". Well, sucks to be the BF, both Natsuki and her BF got played, classic lack of communication was their own undoing and she believes it's her Ex fault.

Natsuki is a timid office lady trying to do her work diligently, but she has been getting sexually harassed by the department chief quite often, alas Natsuki fears fighting back.

Then a new employee called Hitachi is appointed to that office, he is really proactive and with a sense of righteousness, so he immediately calls out on the department chief for harassing Natsuki, making his sordid deeds known to the upper echelon.

The department chief is fired, Natsuki and Hitachi get closer and become a couple, all is well, However, the department chief who got fired was someone who actually showed good results, him getting fired created quite a predicament to that section.

They send a temporary transfer to oversee that office, piling him with a deadline to put that place in order. He then calls Natsuki to further confirm the reason the department chief got fired but also lays on her fact that while what Hitachi did was heroic, upper management isn’t very happy with his performance, they are informally classifying him as all talk, his demeanor doesn’t mean jack if it isn't is bringing in the good numbers; they tasked him with beating Hitachi into shape otherwise his failings will fall on him.

Natuski begins to understand the real topic of that conversation, while the manager gives a good look at her body and thinks to himself Hitachi sure had a good reason to stick up for Natsuki. That way, the manager proposes something to Natsuki, he will make sure Hitachi keeps his job if she agrees to his demand…

Of course that is Natsuki giving her body away in order to protect Hitachi’s job, she bits her lip and goes at it, until one day Hitachi calls her up while she was with the manager, suspiciously it is the manager himself who notices the call and directs Natsuki’s attention to it, she is happy he is calling her, thinking that surely, he is worried since she was taking too long to contact him.

However, Hitachi hurries up and just tells Natsuki sorry that they won’t be having dinner together that night, he is working overtime, but Natsuki overhears a woman’s voice telling Hitachi how big the bathtub there is, Hitachi shushes the woman’s voice while Natsuki can’t believe what she is hearing, he says he is working but a woman’s voice talks about a bathtub?

The manager acts like he overhead the conversation, talking about knowing how spacious the bathtubs around these hotels are, and from what he heard it seems Hitachi was with Tanaka, the new transfer, he sure wonders what the two could be doing together at this hour. Natsuki loses herself in dark thoughts, getting angry at the supposed fact the boyfriend she has been trying to defend is cheating on her.

Natsuki loses herself to pleasure and completely gives in to the manager, not caring about defending Hitachi anymore, once he is completely done with Natsuki he picks his own phone and Tanaka-chan’s name is there calling him…

In the end Hitachi got screwed, demoted and transferred on the very same allegations of sexual harassment as two guys talk about it, Hitachi seemly took advantage of Tanaka, the poor new transfer who came in with the new manager, poor girl has only been there for two weeks. Natsuki though, doesn’t care, she blames Hitachi for betraying her, all is well, she has gotten a new man to look after her she proudly thinks.

Shitty circumstances for both characters.

Hitachi was only doing what was right but to the negative effect of getting rid of someone who actually produced good results. This has upper management place someone who just happen to set their sights on Natsuki. New chief fakes a situation to get Hitachi framed, fired and out of his sight so he can swoop in and pick up Natsuki. He succeeds in both ruining Hitachi's career and taking advantage of Natsuki's feelings to become her new boyfriend that only sees her as a fuck toy while she will forever see Hitachi as someone who betrayed and threw her away.

@Goukenimaru It's weird the author couldn't even be bothered to draw the girl who the bull used as a pawn to manipulate the FMC and Hitachi. Even just one panel showing her would have been fine.
