This is so good. I love how she is depicted as a trully otherworldly being. That makes her being so simple-minded as to actually fall for a human because of one single act of kindness super cute.

Oh, based on the story, I thought she was more of an eldritch cosmic horror rather than a demon as noted in the afterword.

This was honestly really good and well balanced. The dude lacks confidence but has strong support and is able to stand up for himself with a drive to be better. The girl is pampering and understanding, willing to wait for the man to truly gain his confidence and join her for eternity.

Almost certainly a parasitic flatworm in a snail, hence the "horns", the hair tentacles and the corpse looking like a crushed snail. her being a parasitic demon makes it even more obvious
In that phase of their life they grow multiple motile tentacles (her hair tentacles) and broodsacs in the snail's eyes that look identical to her soft horns
Edit: Probably unintentional, but the parasite also forces the snail out of its shell and makes it unable to withdraw back into it. the mc here comes out of his shell as well and begins self-improving his life for the parasite
