(C106) [ZENTANGLE (Hirasawa Zen)] Tsuma to Gimai no Natsuyasumi Oppai Mamire Ama Maso Tane Shibori -Aware na Sourou Zetsurin Master o Soete- (Fate/Grand Order)
Normally I'd do it myself but I kind of had my hands full with 4 other Doujins I need to scan. (Those last two I'm pretty sure people will already upload but I just want to make sure. However I'm positive that the Blue Archive one and the Firefly/Silver Wolf one might [not all of 6sakuu's stuff goes digital]).
So Please, If ANYONE Can upload any of these, PLEASE do.
Just a normal flatbed scanner that can scans 1600 DPI.
But I get the feeling you're asking this question because you want to scan something yourself, And looking for recommendations. I'm going to assume this based off of the fact that a lot of your uploads are of Digital works and You want to get into scanning.
If by any chance you're under the assumption that you need a specific or super powerful scanner to scan doujins, then I'm here to tell you to just squash that assumption. A lot of modern printers have a scanning bed that can scan decently high. Hell, At a certain point, Scanning at higher qualities not only reaches the Law of Diminishing Returns, but also Becomes an active detriment, as the higher DPI means you'll Have to downsize the image more so it can fit the 50 mb limit this site has (I use 1600, but I've been thinking of going lower). What's more, the final product you see in this gallery is the end result of a lot more post editing. Once the scan is initially done, Not only do I need to crop the scan (I can not place the pages fully straight Due to the fact my scanner cropped the edges for some reason. The prospective crop tool is a godsend), But I also have to do a lot of color correction on the raw scan itself. The colors are very washed out. To give you an example of what I mean, Look at the difference between these two versions of the same doujin:
Beyond the simple language difference, The first one's colors are significantly more washed out than the latter's. They actually resemble the RAW scans a lot more, So what I have to do is going to Photoshop and manually color adjust every single page so that it matches the colors that are shown in the book's preview on its Melonbooks page, which just shy of the book being released Digitally, It gives us the best approximation of what the proper colors are supposed to be. And if by chance the doujin does Digitally released, then.... well... Just uploaded Digital version with correct coloration (Something it seems you're proficient in). To do this, it is a painstaking process of manually adjusting the color levels (White Balance, Black Balance, and Midtones), And comparing them to either the previews or your own raw That was color matched to the previews using a color matching tool (in my experience, the Color Match add-on for Paint.net works best). Bright side is in Photoshop, You can make color leveling its own special layer, so you can apply it to any image you want, Making the process a whole lot easier.
But then again, you can just upload them without all that color correction. It happens all the time on this site.
Tl;dr, If you want to scan, then Just get started. What's the expression? "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". Just go for it. I suggest scanning a normal non-doujin page to getting used to perspective cropping and/or cropping an image at an angle. Just be sure to keep in mind the original page's aspect ratio and make sure that that doesn't accidentally get distorted in the crop.
P.S. By chance, if you are going to get started with scanning, Can I please recommend that one of the Doujins you try it on Be one the ones I listed in the pinned comment above? I REALLY Would like to see them uploaded and am kind of afraid of them not. Hell, one of them is Hirasawa Zen book, And going through your uploads it seems that you seem to be a fellow fan, If that all sweetens the pot for you.
