Theory: the submitter is not western themselves

Surely you've noticed the semi-recent influx of Chinese users on E-Hentai over the last few years - in fact, not only was the the Japanese raw posted by a Chinese user, but all off the comments on the Japanese raw are in Chinese. This drastically contrasts if you go read the comments on a Japanese raw for basically anything (not necessarily of kakuninii) posted in in the 2000s or 2010s where it's all English comments.

In particular, I noticed this chapter got a Chinese MTL posted only a single day later (though by a different user), and the comments and rating on that are basically all positive (and there are a lot more comments on it too. And even though there are some signs that the Chinese MTL for this chapter was actually simply assisted rather than a full MTL like this English MTL, both galleries have the "rough translation" tag present, and ehwiki does not state that tag is actually required when its a machine translation.

TL;DR: you may simply be witnessing a cultural clash - western weebs dislike MTL while eastern weebs don't mind it.


But regardless of one's view on MTL, as the following comment says, the dialog breaks down in the second half, so it's not like the "rough translation" tag isn't warranted here - if anything it could further point to the submitter not being a native English speaker (that being they couldn't tell that the dialog falls apart)

Usually I don't complain about MTL's, sometimes even prefer it due to US translators "cultural choices", but this one is really bad second half. The story loses all comprehensive dialogue.
