I'm willing to open dialogue, maybe we can arrive to a system you like better. I might not reduce it to completly uncensored as previously stated (to respect the people that subbed before and even the ones that have subbed since then due to this comic).

And since the best system we have for polls is voting... well... I am going to show the options I can think of and people can vote on them. Feel free to offer suggestions, but I will only consider them if they are fisable.

Option 1: Censor everything but the first chapter or two (how the comic is currently)

Option 2: Censor just the last chapter

Option 3: Have an uncensored version and a censored version (note the uncensored version wouldn't be up to date)

Option 4: Sample (uncensored 1-2 chapters, the rest in Patreon)

This really isn't something you put to a vote. This is your work, you are the one who decides how it is presented. You will never make everyone happy.

However, censoring in and of itself isn't the problem. There are tons of censored things on this site. The primary problem is that you are using the censor to advertise your patreon. Had you used any of the normal methods of censoring, or been creative with it like with smoke and such, there wouldn't be such a massive backlash. On top of that, it is now too late for you to switch to normal ones. The reaction has already occurred and is known. Even if you switch to normal ones people will still view it as patreon advertising.

Plus, even if you decided to put the uncensored stuff out, you will look like you are caving to pressure. Which just means people will think they can get you to change anything if the apply enough pressure.

Honestly, your best bet at this point is to release all the uncensored stuff and then just do what everyone else does. Make patreon the time gate. Release new stuff to your patreon first and then some arbitrary time later release it here. I believe the most common time frame is about 1-2 weeks.

By "normal ones" you mean normal censor (bars, pixels, smoke (wouldn't fit I feel)? Or do you mean uncensored?

I did do the time gate before, but it didn't drive anyone to Patreon (or traffic to my stuff in general) that I just didn't update this site (also lack of interactivity in general). I think one issue might have been that I didn't advertise it IN COMIC (like many people do at the end of the comics, even translators put their stuff there).

What you are saying does sound a bit like Option 2, where I have everything but the last chapter, and just hint that the last chapter is in Patreon. Ironically, that would be less content than now tho.

Well, this is the typical discussion, isn't it?

A content consumer can't expect every creator to just be a hobbyist putting in their own time and money to create a bunch of quality stuff for people to enjoy. Creators need support to be more ambitious and have notable regular output of content. Let alone those who live off support.

It's hard to read "hey the only good choice you have is to uncensor it all here" and not think its coming from someone who has no interest in supporting said creator, no? Which isn't inherently a bad thing, it's just not really where the advice for how to best get people to support said creator lies (as the balance isn't going to be to make those who will never support as happy as possible. it's about getting a balance on pulling people to the patreon without feeling obnoxious enough to stop them before they even consider it)

If you see situations like described above... where a creator decides to do a censorship method instead instead of a time paywall method... its because the timed paywall didn't work in actually pulling people. And that might be why it feels better to the people reading this who just want the content for free. People who rather wait than pay. Because it doesn't actually motivate people to support the content creators.

So, something to chew on for anyone following this discussion. Do you want a timed paywall or other type of method because its something YOU feel okay with because you rather not pay? Or is it because it'd actually make you go there and support the creator?

Dude, treat your patreon supports as patrons. They're not "buying" your stuff. They're sponsoring you to make shit in general.

Once the shit is made, who cares where it's posted? There's no rule stating you can't share what ever you've made.

For example, it takes 5 minutes to find and download your content for free anyway. (I've seen up to chapter 5 of this uncensored)

Also, this isn't an advertisement site. No one comes here so they can get baited into spending money on hentai.

If you want to make money while polling people you should maneuver the situation so the people paying you can choose what you work on next.

I'm almost certain that anyone that has an account and complains on a porn piracy site won't ever be giving a creator single penny. Thus, the only reason creators should even use this site is to advertise.
So, you should censor it with the patreon logo and put your URL somewhere on the page so people who might pay know where to find you. And hopefully that means creators can make more and everyone gets more kink content.

(Also people complaining about porn are psychopaths anyway, so their comments should be ignored.)
