Am I going crazy or is this at least partially AI generated? The way the girl's head is tilted to her right in most of the images, how she's almost always looking at the "camera", the clashing art styles between the guy, girl, and backgrounds, and the poor composition...

Now, I could be wrong and it's possible she wasn't drawn using AI, but there's *something* off about this doujin that I don't get when I read from other stuff even if it's poorly drawn. It's unnerving.

You mean how like 90% of doujins have guys not being drawn in the same artstyle as the girls? The backgrounds & props are just 3D SketchUp models or something like that.

Most of the stuff you listed off also applies to pure hand-made doujins (bad composition is unfortunately the norm), but the fact that the girl keeps looking at you the reader during sex is unnerving. Even if she isn't AIgen (and I doubt it is unless the artist randomly gave up halfway since most of the first half is clearly hand-drawn) which is why you got the feeling it's AIgen. Even then I think it's just the artist not realizing how creepy it is than using AI, esp. when current neural networks don't have that limitation of always facing forwards.

Unrelated, but the guy was 100% cuter when he still had his bangs.

OK yeah you're right on the backgrounds lol, stock images and renders run through a B&W manga filter pass the low bar these days.

But I decided to take another look at it because I'm a stubborn bastard. Take a look at her mouth highlights while she has an open-mouth smile: there's three specular highlights (two on the tongue, one on her lower lip) and her snaggletooth. Now check every other frame where she has her mouth open similarly: the exact same highlight pattern and tooth, but stretched or squished. The eyes are also copy-pasted, look at the highlight pattern.

Her hair is similar levels of strange because it's so identical between panels but it's different in tiny ways. I don't think an artist would be so meticulous to copy some details every panel but then half-ass some others. There's some level of trickery here, I'm not sure if it's a live 2D/Blender render or similar but it isn't fully hand drawn. There are waaaay too many similarities between her features in what should be entirely different panels. That's probably where I felt the extra level of creepiness from, besides the soul-staring, and why I felt the guy was so different: he's actually fully redrawn every time.

Her body has issues too with things looking dissimilar-but-too-similar in ways that could just be paranoia on my part. And on page 17 where her left hand touches him there's some suspicious marks that look like uncleaned gen-AI halluci-lines that could also just be regular uncleaned lines. But I'm tired of zooming in on this to analyze it more.

A very simple way to identify whether artist used AI or not:
- verify whether or not the artist's works have consistent or progressively improving style before and after 2023 (image generation AIs only get matured since 2023)
- verify the publishing frequency of their works (normally a doujinn >20 pages takes 2~3 months)
