The .webm animations are converted into .webp with some frame loss or quality loss.

The webp files are 3 to 5 times bigger in file size than the original 1440p 60fps webm files. In fact, the gallery is more than twice the file size of the game itself. Is webp such a bad format for conversion?

I used ffmpeg for the conversion, and that's what I got. I had to downscale some of them 'cause the webp files exceeded the 20MB limit that this site allows.

I wish there's a way to just upload the webm files here.

I'm not sure what "bad format for conversion" precisely means, but I think it's important to keep in mind that modern video compression is extremely efficient compared to animation file formats. It's like comparing jpg with bmp

There's just way too much dialogue. I'd love if the phone video animation could be longer, but unfortunately it's only really short. I feel like most of the game time is spent watching them talk instead of any actual progress happening. It's more about the heroine giving him things in public instead of doing it secretly. I'd much prefer to see the heroine fully enjoying herself in front of the hero without him noticing at all - that would be so much more exciting

@wavedash Your comparison with jpg to bmp is of course right, but shouldn't the result be what matters? I.e. the files that people download via this gallery. For a different example: When someone converts an mp4 into a gif file that's much bigger at worse quality, then I don't think anyone would say "oh you shouldn't compare mp4 to gif". It's more about "does this conversion make sense?" (from a storage and viewing pov)
