UPDATE - pages 26 - 27 were missing, probably lost in the upload process.
An imprint of the bishoujo fanclub KACC, also known as 'Knights of the Fairy Kingdom', KARC as an imprint is cheekly titled after Captain Kirk from Star Trek (slated as 'カーク', 'kaku' on the cover). Knights of the Fairy Kingdom garnered their name from an actual text titled Knight of the Fairy Kingdom (Hayakawa Bunko).
Considered a "SF & Bishojou" journal, KARC is actually a lolicon imprint and features individuals who were a part of Hideo Azuma's camp and were regular contributors to Bishoujo Aifukakai No Tail (美少女愛好会 シッポがない). There are several also slight mentions to Hirukogami Ken. The circle seemed to be active up until 1983. Many of the artists participated in a variety of other imprints and circles and had a diverse range of topics they covered art wise. Some defined contributors listed on the web on auction listings have been identified as Kazuaki Iwanami (岩波和明), Hiroyuki Okuda (奥田宏行), Mutsuki Takino (滝乃睦月), and Masayuki Sada (さだまさゆき).
Sold initially for 180 yen, the production value on Vol.0 is quite well done and features a lot of then-up and coming and established artists. Published on March 29th of 1981, this text was initially given out to members and organizers of KACC before being sold at Comiket 17 on April 5th (Kawasaki Shimin Plaza (川崎市民プラザ). The book is under pamphlet size though is printed on very good paper. Pages 3 - 4 are a fold out and are numbered as such in the colophon.
Many of the artists are not named, but from understanding of their styles and some signatures, I've been able to make them out. These artists are very much important to the bishoujo movement.
There isn't much information on the web about this circle. With that said, this is the editor's notes:
編集始末記 (Editorial Afterword / Notes on the Editing)
April 5th. We all gathered at the editor-in-chief’s apartment (the “Great Mori Proletariat Apartment”) to compile the manuscript.
This year’s New Year’s card was from Yuki: “Please continue to support the Knights of the Fairy Kingdom.”
Hmm, well… the manuscript still isn’t finished.
After we’re done, we’ll probably head out somewhere nearby to eat cake or something.
Today’s process: we’re putting together the layout, adding tones, checking the balance. If something looks off, we fix it. There are still things to adjust.
The Xerox machine is acting up again. It’s always like this at the worst time.
(Handwritten aside:) “Hey, what about this page?”
The binding is simple, but we like it. It has a kind of handmade charm.
P.S. If anyone wants chocolate or cake as a present, let us know. — Namikō.
