According to the tag definition for m:gender change: For parodies (e.g. female ranma saotome) the change itself does not have to be shown.

Karl Thopia was a dude in real life, and unlike with Fate/'s genderbends this seems to be entirely based on IRL history rather than an alternate version, so I'd argue gender change still applies.
