I think more than anything what makes me laugh about the way the author wrote this series is that the protagonist's relationship with his wife is so paper thin the only time you see him willingly fucking her outside of the threesome scenario is as a rage cope for losing Reika, and yet despite both that AND the convenient appearance of time travel out of nowhere the MC -still- loses Reika in the end (Wouldn't it have made a lot more sense to have him lose his -wife- due to fucking with the timeline in the past but get Reika in return? I think people would've been able to actually stomach that type of ending.)

Like there's every indication that MC is in love with her more than his actual wife and yet if you know how Vol 5 turns out he just gives up at the first sign of adversity? It's actually hilarious that the author thought anyone was going to either understand or enjoy point of all these 'twists'.

I maintain that the actual thing that made people -this- angry (Author's social media is full of flaming 24/7) isn't the 'original twist' of the NTR in this volume. It's the fact that it's followed up by time travel out of nowhere which makes people think that there's going to be some deus ex machina to get the protagonist out of this trauma, only for the time travel to then not actually fix anything. It basically just comes off as the author baiting the people who were most upset by Vol 4 into looking forward to Vol 5 only to then rub their face in it even harder.
