For the past few years, Yassy's been just too experimental for my tastes. I loved some of his experimental works in the past, like his Scatolo series, the vore and the tentacles one-offs, but these days it's almost always a complete miss for me. Which is an absolute shame, because I consider him one of the greatest artists.

And I just don't understand as to why he makes original characters the focus - it's not the first time he draws a shota being isekai'd into Touhou world. What's the appeal of it? I guess it caters to a very specific niche that likes to self-insert themselves in such a scenario, but it can't be a huge number of people.

I really want to see a continuation of the Scatolo series, it ended on such a cliffhanger.

As it turns out, Manakemia, "cute boy gets dicked down by big tiddy futas" is pretty sizable niche. The fact that it's a random shota that got isekai'd into gensokyo isn't the main appeal, it's just the setup. The alternative is shota-fying a character to fill the role, as touhou's character roster has a cute boy shortage. Isekai'ing one in also means Yassy gets to do whatever with the character's personality without worrying about dumbasses bitching about non-canon characterizations. Benefits all around, really.

I didn't think it would be such a controversial statement saying that I'd prefer Yassy to focus on Touhou characters instead of OC's that have no connection to the franchise. I'm happy for everyone who likes it, but I just feel literally nothing at any of his OC shotas.

Yassy drew Flandre in a very shota-like style in Chinchin in Chinchin, I would've loved to see him portray her in this doujin instead of the OC shota for example.
