之前有人尝试考证过这部《人造美人鱼》到底是谁创作的。大致得到如下结论：
1、首先原作一定是英文版的，主角叫“妮可”和“丽娜”，出现的公司叫“ ETERNAL PLEASURE公司(永恒快乐公司)”，大约是07年附近被人翻译为了中文，有人考证原名是一部叫《the costume》的作品，但没有更详细的信息了。
2、2010年左右，不确定哪位中文创作者根据这一设定重写，并把内容填充到3章，增加了潜入调查的女特工被变成人鱼丢入水中的故事，据怀疑作者是“帝国执政”。
