Aeon Flux was so freaky and weird
it took me a while to realize i wasn't the target audience because it was literally an adult cartoon

Peter Chung's art style has so many freaky influences, it's easy to forget he can draw in full anime style when he wants and played one of the biggest roles in spreading it to the US. A lot of Disney including the execs got exposed to Miyazaki because he passed the tapes to them.
