To be a devil's advocate here there is a logic to this 'madness' that makes sense, there is no concrete definition of gender on the site wiki so people will default layman interpretation sex=gender. The male didn't gain a vagina so no sex change, therefore no gender change. If you still think it's 'dumb' the old wiki definition did not contradict this logic and feminization did explicitly mentioned shemale in the definition so people actually used this proof that shemale isn't 'gender change' but 'feminization' for tagging over a decade and people supported it. The "Acceptable when a male turns into a dickgirl (futanari/shemale)." line was absent in the wiki defintion until 2024, although enforcement of it started in 2023.

I understand the logic behind admins decision as you don't want cuntboy galleries popping up in female tag searches even though they are technically female and indirectly insinuating that 'western futa' (actually just shemale) is gay porn was going to ruffle a lot of feathers. Unfortunately that means that the gender change tag gets flooded with shemale porn as a side effect.

Personally I would preferred a special tag for male->shemale instead. In pixiv there is a tag that fits this シーメール. Transliteraltes as shi-me-ruka, literally Shemaleization. Considering that this site eventually added personality excretion to the tags, I hope that they will add this one someday

Sex isn't just just genitals; male and female bodies have a variety of sex characteristics. Sex (or gender, as ehentai cateogorizes it) is determined by overall sex characteristics. And since the sex characteristics of the protag change from that of a standard guy to shemale, she no longer counts as a male character and therefore it qualifies as gender change. That's how that tag works.

And we already do have a tag for male to shemale; Feminization. But gender change also applies, because both girls with pussies and dicks are categorically female in the eyes of this website.

The only way that's going to change is if you convince the administration to fundamentally change how they categorize women characters.

I am aware about it long before this, hence the devil advocate bit, and accept the administration's judgement, I disagree with it but I am not going to raise enough of a stink and risk getting banned over this hill.

I will give it the old college try with shimeruka tag in the forums sometime this year but I am not expecting much.

To make long story short I have some influence in comment sections but very little influence in the forums. If i did have some influence in the forums it wouldn't have taken until 2024 (a whole year) the administration's interpretation to be stated explicitly in the wiki definition, if they're not going to change their minds, the people who don't go to the fourms at least need to know about that. The wiki is pretty much the only way non-forum user will know and it should been done earlier. But c'est la vie.

@Goat - If genitals (or ANY body part that specifically belongs to a certain Sex) doesn't determines one's biological Sex, then a Male growing Breasts doesn't make them a Female; nor does a Female growing a Dick make them Male.
That means the character in question is still a Male, but heavily drugged on Estrogen (or any other fantasy Feminization drugs); which btw should be a tag here, dude got roofied. :/
If you gotta put a label, it's Femboy (or Tomgirl, as this site puts it).

Shemale nor Female tags qualifies here as both tags are determined by the Sex being Female; and it's not.

@liam64 You’re misquoting me. I said that a character being categorically male or female is determined by overall sex characteristics, which means their overall sex changes when enough of those details change.

And no, a tomgirl is a guy who is feminine enough to pass as a girl when crossdressing. Having tits plus looking more like a girl than a guy crosses the boundary from male to female.

If the main character began looking the way they do at the end, they would obviously be tagged as shemale because they are overall a girl with a dick. And since they started out as overall male, that means feminization and gender change/morph applies.

That is how the tags work. 🤷‍♀️

Physicality and appearance are what matter for these tags, and a character physically changing enough that their tags swap sexes means gender change/morph occurred. You don't have to like it, but that is how it works. 🤷‍♀️
