The beginning is a disjointed, out of context, scene where a woman seems to be laid down over something, one person claims this woman here is the managing department director's wife, this description is superimposed the slang word "Okazu" (side-dish repurposed as a word for fap fodder, masturbation material), thus the woman is someone's property it seems, a second voice can't believe this, it's ok for me to go down on her? He came for the electrical switch box inspection, he is a certified electrician then, not just a janitor, and what's this? The old man actually knows him?

Father-in-law immediately recognized the tall man, calling him Youichi, it has been so long! Kasumi thinks this is the worst, this Youichi person is acquainted with her father-in-law apparently, the old man is talking as if he knew this person forever ago, how much he grew the old man speaks in nostalgic awe. Well, time for the switch box inspection, it is mandatory regulations after all, then Youichi immediately makes his advance on Kasumi, obviously he was a stalker all along, he blames her for being careless as he skilfully rouches her. Kasumi is too shocked to resist, but another layer is seen as Kasumi is somehow answering to Youichi's touch? That's when a somber realization pops in Kasumi's mind, she has fallen for Youichi's grip but she still thinks what she has with Tohru cannot end, yes, she feels it is her responsibility to keep everything together because that's the "curse of the scar"...

The scene cuts back to beginning, from a clearer framing, Youichi is outside, talking to a man, the very same guy that works under Tohru, he one who dreamed of having a go with Kasumi, Youichi talks about that hiring process... Kasumi is on the table, with her eyes covered, the same dialog from the beginning repeats, yes, that's the fap fodder, the department head's wife, have a go at it! Just don't get the neighbor's attention you hear? Yes, in the end Kasumi feels she has to hold it, she has to keep atoning, not only due the "curse" but for allowing herself to be stolen by a dirty thief, THE END.

Hmmm, I don't know if I'm reading too much into it but the story seems to hint Kasumi didn't marry Tohru fully out of love, that accident may have triggered some lingering guilt and sense of duty in Kasumi's mind, she claims to love him for sure, but it isn't a recurring thought throughout the book, the talk about the "curse of the scar" at the end made me think of this, especially since Kasumi recalls that accident by remarking she technically was following the sign properly. It felt Kasumi owes Tohru something for life but could also think it wasn't entirely her fault back then, she is afraid of breaking that even if Youichi pretty much conquered her in body and mind.

That's my personal interpretation though, the story doesn't claim anything about Kasumi being forced to be with Tohru.

What's up with Youichi anyways? The guy seems pretty well acquainted with Tohru and his father, also it seems he has been locked onto Kasumi for longer than it is seen, it's like he has a hidden backstory.

The ending is pretty sequel friendly, I don't follow Taira so I don't know, if anyone can tell a sequel is in the works feel free to do so, ROUTE1 is no stranger to sequels so I wouldn't be surprised if this gets one.
