The dialogue is immaculate, I'm actually rooting for this dude. He's actually treating her with more then just a bit of decency.

He's doing more for her as a person then Cid just by seeing and acknowledging them even though he is supposedly an enemy. (yes Cid turned her back but what else aside from that?) Honestly it's refreshing to see the girls think for themselves.
