I think the darts he got into his neck on page 3 contained some kind of drug which caused the change, but I'm not sure.

Yeah - basically the creepy dude with the bandages on the face was creating a new drug with which to transform the entire school into females. They were in the darts. Presumably he offered to attempt to create an antidote if the main character let him live. Plan failed.

Edit: At the end, the creepy dude (now a cyborg) activates the entire stockpile of his drug as a gas. That explains the schoolwide transformations...
