@MackDiesel: Yeah, that's true, but consider all the stuff that isn't scanned and consider that maybe only the stuff that stands out gets uploaded. I mean, there's just an infinite mountain of stuff that isn't ever going to be scanned. Maybe we need more scanners. That's to say, when I see someone with a pile of books bought from an event, most of them are pretty vanilla. Oh and yeah, I just noticed you are referring to straight vanilla. Which is pretty common too, but I guess not in the context of Touhou.

PersonaGuy256: Really? From what I see, stuff like this is a dime a dozen compare to vanilla (as in consesual loving) touhou het stuff. For every one vanilla doujin there's about 10 rape (if not worse if Kurona is anything to go by, you know the guro torture artist) ones. With things like this, once certain trends are established they hardly diverge from them.

I mean things like Kurona (guro/torture), This (mindbreak), CHIRIAKUTA (Mindbreak, especially if Yukari's involved) seem to get scanned/translated quickly even though their themes have been established. Meanwhile fans of I'm (Circle) are still waiting on a translation of half the scanned stuff and translations of the other two Momiji ones. Or MMT having most of their vanilla stuff neglected in favor of rape.

Vanilla yuri or non H yuri in touhou? very common if not painfully so. Same goes for smutty het and such (such as the nymphomaniac series of that series of super slutty touhous in the real world)

About owners: most are loathe to scan their own stuff due to how it damages the books, thus leaving us dependent on those who are willing to pay for a copy to be scanned and those willing to sacrifice their copy for the greater good. That and the task is such some have been known to give up, passing their stuff along to some other slower scanner if we're lucky.

As far as this doujin goes, if this is the future of this circle, I really don't want any part of that as that goes beyond "Fappable if guilt inducing" and into "the human body doesn't work that like that!" Considering how this artist's normal art doesnt' go this far, it makes you ask: does rape/mindbreak really sell more? And does things more shocking than mere rape/mindbreak sell even more?

well he wasn't fond of such a thing with touhou once upon a time though it seems his pixiv is mainly stuff about his doujins and related things.

Though from the looks of the pixiv page, this may be incomplete only capturing the end and not the rest of the doujin (where some guys drug sakuya and kidnap her)

DarKDragonite: really? because it looks the other way around to me as most of these touhou doujins fall into a select few scenarios, most of which with usually one ending: mindbroken. Though if you include other artists, well it could get worse and it does sometimes. If this was a usual Tiramisu doujin, I woudln't have bother daying much but this takes an extra level or two in depravity. Don't get me started on how believable these scenarios are as most depend on someone magically getting the upper hand against people much more powerful than them and somehow with their dicks break their minds.

Well a large part of the problem always boils down to simple math. There are FAR more artists/writers/scanners/doujins than there are translators. There are literally HUNDREDS of new doujins released every year across all fandoms, all conventions and thats just manga-works only. Theres also the anime scene, the VN/video game scene and everything else in-between (hats off to you light novel translators).

I just want to point out that nowadays we've got scanning services on the web. Desudesu runs one, for example. If you're not happy with what's getting scanned, then change it.
With that in mind, though, I'll admit that it's harder to buy good vanilla compared to good rape/tentacles/fetish stuff. A rape fan can look at the preview of a rape doujin and know if he'll like it or not, but for vanilla it's not so easy. Vanilla is surprisingly more complex than the more direct(?) fetishes, and needs more work to be good. Although that doesn't change the fact that we desperately need more of it and less of this shit.
