Okay, clearly I need to -explain- why Iris is a wide, gaping cunt.

It all goes back to Dink, who is -actually- the best character. All he wants to do is be taken seriously. That's why he shows up to Iris's cave in the first place, knowing she was a dragon, knowing his sword is made of wood. He needs to prove himself, because, in whatever backstory we haven't been shown yet, he was belittled, picked on for having wild fantasies and ideals about his future. He figures the best way to show the people who subjected him to that is to slay (only leave out the "s") a dragon, and claim its hoard, which he plans to come back with, slung over his shoulder, the spoils of conquest.
And what harm has he done thus far in the comic? Headbutted a jail-guard. That's it. The rest of the time, he just talks a big game.

And Iris is too dim-witted to see this, and the INSTANT he shows up with some random cat-boy she's never met, she babies him on the sole merits that he's an orphan and a kitty cat, when arguably, he's just as bad as Dink in many ways. Maybe he's not as outwardly crass as our wooden-sworded knight, who could have, by the way, led the cat anywhere BUT Iris's cave, but he kept his promise. The cat immediately repays him by stealing his sword, for no reason other than the fact that it was in reach, on his way to accuse his orphanage-mate with a bright future of "abandoning" him.

Iris looks right past all of this information, and focused only on the fact that Dink is a bit rude and has taken up residence in an inconsequential corner at the mouth of the cave. The result: she treats the cat like a precious little flower, except for that one time she allowed Dink to blame him for breaking his sword.

BULL. SHIT. For whatever reason, Dink is Dink, and that's just fine, but the very first panel of the comic is him trying to (s)lay a dragon for reasons. A dragon mind you that simply didn't eat/burn/crush/toss him and instead just doesn't do anything. Adding onto the reason that had she admitted to breaking his sword, he'd twist it into a "Well, you may have broken by one sword, but my other sword is ready to be used" kind of deal. Not to mention he apparently has a lady friend already yet wants to slay one lady dragon while shit talking another. :D

While Tig is clearly a jaded fellow, and has a shitty outlook on life, so there you go.

The "Dragon's Burn" being she verbally burns him with her wit and sarcasm throughout the series. In this case calling his "sword" small, he rebuts with just riding it super low and she returns with that scraping the bottom of the barrel as the insult implies.
