Does the father want to have a grandson early by matchmaking his two children? This family tree really screws up my mind.

Hopefully, there will be a sequel that can explain it better. The probem is this was TOO SHORT.

The particular word being used 「水（を）差す」 literally means to pour water on something, but is often used metaphorically to refer to "ruining someone else's good time" and is analogous to the English "wet blanket".

Again, mysterymeat3, I mean no disrespect here, and I do appreciate the work you put into translating and editing all of these. I don't really like being a backseat translator after all, but I thought I should straighten out Kishi's confusion here. I apologize beforehand if I have offended you here.

I thought that at first, but then I figured I might as well translate it this way just in case I was wrong, because the verb can also mean to bow or pay respect, so he could have been saying that he wanted to bow his head as low as possible.

The second part, however, you're completely right on. I had no idea what they meant by that. I know that the noun was a water pot, and the verb means to pour water, but I couldn't figure out what that had to do with anything.
