I think the boyfriend exists because a) If she was lying, why would she think in her head sentences that presuppose she has a boyfriend? b) Why does she someone named "Boyfriend" on her phone?

As for your other points:
-"apparently sex with him is pretty dull" -> that appears true
-"she doesn't mention or think of him until she's drunk in the house of the guy she likes" -> That's what surprised me. She seems to care little about the guy, yet she not only has him as a boyfriend, she's even had sex with him
-"his name on the phone is "Boyfriend". As in she didn't even bother to make up a nickname." -> Ok, this is probably just the author's choice. He probably didn't want to make up a name for the boyfriend. Or, if it was a random made-up name, the audience wouldn't be sure if the caller was her boyfriend or not, so saying "Boyfriend" makes it clear.
-"Considering he never shows" -> to be fair, this seems to have all taken place in a short time. It's not like the boyfriend has to be with her at all times.

I get the feeling the boyfriend either: doesn't exist, does but won't much longer, or isn't dating her anymore.

@Crystalium: I think if any male name had appeared on the phone, especially in that moment, anyone would have assumed it was her boyfriend. Likewise, if she had apologized to some random name during sex, same assumption. That either the translator or the author didn't even bother shows you just how important one or both of them considered the boyfriend to be.

Mind you, the main reason I doubt his existence is he never appears. And the majority of the mentions happen during intense sex with someone else that Fuuka obviously cares for a great deal more than said boyfriend. And since her brilliant plan was to get drunk, I think it's safe to assume she might make up a boyfriend on the spot (easier to accept than her cheating, anyway). As you said, very odd that she would date a guy she doesn't seem to like, especially considering her stronger feelings for someone else. Though Koiwai is older than her and has Yotsuba, so maybe that's why?

The "boyfriend" wasn't named on the cellphone or anywhere else in the manga besides the name "boyfriend".
When I got the first half of the translation to work with, I thought she was making up the boyfriend's existence as well, but I just didn't notice the cellphone's text until it was brought to my attention.

Also, I think the first half of the manga(the one by Oomori Harusame) didn't have anything to do with the story of the second part.
