Well, I can understand why he would avoid going back to the later point. There are only so many ways to take that story (conspirators trying to get her pregnant to take her child away from her) without bringing it to a close. She either gets pregnant or she gets rescued.

So that, and the author's desire to revel in this character (who represents a lot of specific fetishes), seem like enough justification to drag this on for a bit. I think that I would like to see some of the early story though (the establishment of setting, how she met our dear knight, her getting knocked up, her getting separated and captured).
