But that's plain wrong. Even if not the writer, Jin always had creative control over his story.
He decided the changes as full improvements, since a carbon copy of the manga would not bring new joy and excitement to the readers (his exact words).
And to make the artwork he knew everything about the events with months in advance.

4chan epilogue spoiler:

Kyouka it's just trying to convince herself the boy is the father. (not that it can be proved anyway but come on, that's just bait)
Oh, and she'll end up giving Curly's real name to the baby.
Keeps doing her daily life unless her body ask for sex, then she calls Curly or he call hers.
On epilogue in particular, the kid is visiting grandpa, and the daugthers are outside the house as well.
