So for those who have not been keeping up with Gooberman's (Guberman) blog/twitter updates here is what he had to say about what is going to happen to the series.
Couple of disclaimers before I start translating this
-He was already released form the military service a year ago
-The update is more than a year old, he wrote this just a month after his release from the service.
-He already also started working on another pokemon doujin (I think it had to do something with romance of Guzma and the female protag)
-He's just a really slow dude in general so even if he does promise something it's not guaranteed it's gonna happen anytime soon.
-Now he just draws casually with no on going series at the moment with sprinkle of short pokemon comic here and there from what I could tell

The current state of Dating a team magma grunt

Hello everybody! This is gooberman speaking!
It's been over a month since I've finished my mandatory service.
Time seem to really fly when you're enjoying yourself.

Most of the visitors for my blogs comes for my pokemon fanfiction "Dating a Magma Grunt" and many people have been wonder what the future for the series is looking like after the 2 year long hiatus it had
I was shocked to see people even over seas messaging me how much they love the series in rough limited Korean using google translate.

If My memory is serving me correctly I've never actually gave a straight answer to anybody about my work status for the series. Which only fueled the worries from the fans.
I was actually never planning to write this in the first because of the amount of pressure I have from all the reader who've been waiting patiently for two years. And it doesn't help that I'm having trouble getting a grasp on how big my reader base is in the first place.

To put this bluntly I have no real plan on resuming the series.

I have several reasons as to why I'm doing this...

Firstly I simply don't have the time, despite me being released from the service I am currently* jobless, I don't have much money saved from the wage I've earned from the mandatory service and I have little to no money left saved before I started the service. And since I'm at the age where I cam't simply just ask my parents for financial support anymore I'm currently living off of minimum wage jobs working almost 10 hours a day. And when I include sleeping into daily schedule I'm only left with 5 to 6 hours of free time.

You may be asking "Why not just draw during the 5-6 hours of free time?", which brings me to my second point.

I'm currently* trying to advance my drawing hobby to a professional career as a webtoon artist. What I need to get straight is that drawing fanfic/doujin is just a hobby that I do for fun, not a job. Truthfully I love drawing fan fiction having creative freedom in telling a story through drawings, but in the recent chapters I've felt like I've been losing the creative freedom as to how I want to take this series. Don't get me wrong when I started the dating series I've drew this out of love and passion. And it doesn't seem like I'm gonna get the same amount of passion I've had in the beginning anytime soon. The series is not completely dead as I will leave it off to the side as something to work on if things happen to lighten up. But I do not want to get your hopes up.

I know this message was very disappointing to all of you, but this is the decision I've decided to make. I thank everybody who've came all the way through with me in this story, and I even thank the ones who even just came to look at my art work.
