Wo was shot in the head in battle, lost her memories. Admiral picked her up and sex returns her memories as an abyssal.
Admiral reaches for a gun, which was taken by Wo and thrown away, Admiral is fine but Wo is brokenhearted.
She tried to mimic Admiral then resigns to her fate(pointing to where she should be shot, the head).

Overall sad.
Still fappable.

I get whats going on (thanks to pekcun) but it just doesn't seem 'right'. Like the artist started working on one script then suddenly was suddenly told to switch to a totally different script.

I think the ending is pretty open ended. We see Wo pointing to the same spot where she was initially shot(see page 5). This could mean that she lost her memories again, but this time the admiral doesn't repair her and gets a cute waifu.

@ 579881: you did not read p24? Ad is not with her so Hibiki has no reason to hesitate to not shot a full equip enemy in the base, try smoking while sitting on the chair that Ad normally sit to fishing.

At first I wanted to believe that the admiral stoped Hibiki or at least tried to save Wo. If not I would hate this shitty admiral.
But then I remenbered just how many of these girls I've killed myself.
Maybe I am even worst for never viewing the abyssal in this light
I feel a little bit shitty now, but making me thing about my motivations is allways appreciated.

There's a problem with that theory: Wo's reaction could be attributed to battle instincts, or assuming the worst about people, if the gun was the only thing she took notice of. But as it is, she grabs the cigarettes & lighter at the same time, then immediately demonstrates that she knows how they "work". This suggests she is not misunderstanding the situation. My impression is that Wo simply grabbed the contents of the table, then discarded those items which were irrelevant to her. She already knew how things were going to go down.

Different authors handle Wo's "hat" different ways. Some have it as a permanent part of her body, some have it as removable, some (usually the more lighthearted ones) have it as possessing an independent mind and voice. This is the first one I can recall where she doesn't have it on one page, then *poof* it's there on the next. Frankly, that's pretty lame. Author should have either used some subtlety to show "Yes, this is Wo," or if dead set on having the hat, done a mecha-bits-flying-and-assembling-on-her-body neo-mahou shoujou henshin.
