@GreatWhiteWhale: Sometimes when the feelings for each other (emotions) have transcended beyond verbal boundaries (and felt by the readers as well), the three-word cliche would seem oh-so-superficial.
And artists whose literally can illustrate wonderfully diabetic stories which are able to attain THAT level, are an extremely rare breed at best.
Also, it isn't easy to illustrate the psychological emotions of a medically-ill person, on the verge of risking his/her health to tell (or express) his/her feelings of love and affection to the person he/she has a crush on, isn't exactly an easy thing by any measure. And the diabetic path it took underscores such emotional attachments and yearning for affection that hopes to last as long as it can get. I have seen similar scenarios in another short by Sakura Mitono.

A typical power-of-true-love-conquers-everything kind-of story, told in a not-so-typical kind of way. Kudos to NecroManCr for the attempt and respecting the humility you have shown, you've earned it!

PS: @plahplah: Sorry to melt your bucket of ice there, but anything about post-operation scars shouldn't involve any mention of amputation unless explicitly stated otherwise. Emotional damage caused by amputation is no trivial matter, so your "assertion" falls flat on itself. Another work by Urute seems to reflect similar emotions in this aspect.
