Now here's a series I've been curious about for years. This is a fan comic that started back in 2010. While we're seeing the latest installment and dramatic turning point first, the fact that it got posted at all is pretty amazing. It's a good year to be a U&T fan.

Based on the previews and what I could make out, it's a pretty damn ambitious time travel plot, taking in the epilogue and Gaiden stories from U&T and using Touhou to fill the blanks. Some parts seem forced, but then neither series is a precision instrument. The visuals alone make it plenty worthwhile.

**SPOILERS** for both the end of U&T and the previous doujin chapters. Also I could just be wrong because it's not like I can read the whole books.

The storyline is titled "Chapter XX: The Hakurei Collapse." In the modern day, somebody killed Reimu and broke down the Hakurei Barrier, causing a catastrophe for Gensokyo and releasing several Hakumen scale yokai into the world. Remilia Scarlett in particular is out for blood, battling the US Air Force over their cities, claiming humanity needs to learn the weight of its crime.

It's up to Ushio and company from his own time period to figure out how the conflict began and set things right. They piece together the political conflict that began when Hyou killed a certain monster in Shangri-la, starting a domino effect. But things quickly get messy as Remilia and Yukari's power over destiny and boundaries interfere with Tokisaka and Tokijun's ability to travel through time. Soon they're attacked by Sakuya pursuing them through the time stream like a Hound of Tindalos.

Separated from allies and without a weapon, Ushio is powerless to watch the world burn under the vengeful yokai. But when he runs into Marisa, she points out together they seemingly have all the information to fix their respective worlds, and it doesn't seem like a coincidence. They're being guided towards a solution as inevitably as Ushio was towards the monster in his basement. Here in the future, destiny and boundaries being twisted have given Ushio more to work with than he thinks.

To be continued in hopefully a fuckton of fight scenes. Keep your fingers crossed the current TV show spurs the creators into getting back to this series. And for somebody to scan the other volumes because this shit looks pretty epic.
