I think the art is pretty good. It's not my favorite type of art; I'm more a fan of the clean type of art, like Qunami or Tonikaku, but in terms of the messy type, I can definitely see the appeal here. In fact, Chakichi's art reminds me of locon's, though Chakichi's traps, for better or worse, look more slutty and less pissed off.

Yeah, that's why I didn't originally translate it on my own and it had to be commissioned instead. After the first half with him being fucked pure shota, it was hard to get into the trap part.

That's why I don't like the term trap being conflated with crossdressing yaoi.
I definitely can't get into stuff farther on the masculine end of the spectrum of physical features, but I can work pretty far towards the middle. The idea of "traps" establishes these standards aiming very strongly for the feminine end of the spectrum, rather than androgyny or a blend of either set of features.
So, I wouldn't say it wasn't a convincing trap, but rather it's not a "trap" work at all- it's crossdressing/shota.
There's no harm in calling it a "trap"- it's basically semantics. It's just an indication of a very limited lens that a lot of people view a much wider genre through.

I agree on the art similiarities. Sharp eyes/glares; slender but relatively toned (katou a lot moreso) physique; lots of similar angles/poses. I also see it in the attitude and dynamics of the characters too. Lots of aggressive subs/power bottoms/role reversal + occasional antagonism.
