Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if not I'm calling it:

Faye is pregnant with Mike's baby. And that baby is causing Faye's shapeshifting and body-control to be sporadic. If Shapeshifter SSX is at least canon on the fact that a shapeshifter fetus can alter their mother's body via umbilical and placenta connection, then it's Faye Jr. doing all the random things that's been going on with Faye. Maybe it's like the baby is 'dreaming' but the early thoughts get transmitted to Faye's body to change randomly as a side-effect or something, like cross-talk or nerve-signals interfering.

Why not just shapeshift into someone else or a different identity entirely.

For that matter, Faye has been using her shapeshifting abilities on webcam for years. Seems like it wouldn't really matter the scale in which shapeshifters are exposed the second they got exposed at all, considering it's a human who can change...shapes. Even on an underground camwhore site, a discovery like that would explode immediately onto the mainstream internet.

This series is one of a kind, it truly has a lot of effort put into it, and I'm loving every page of it. That being said, I'm kinda wary of what's to come, it started out very simple enough, and now the stakes are extremely high in the blink of an eye, and I hope the story doesn't go too "way out there" in terms of storytelling (I'm 101% behind every fetish Lemonfont includes). Id' rather have my heart broken over a dramatic moment (like in the first shapeshifter) than have it break over something that came out of left field (life thread anyone?). But all in all, great read as always!

Well shit, Lemon included a reference to Under the Skin. And that ending, jeez I can't wait to see what happens.

'Bout time we're getting back to the steamy bits. Don't get me wrong, Lemon's art has always been great, but what made the first SS so excellent was the mix of characterization and sexiness, and I feel it's gone too far towards the narrative side of things - it took, what, a year of just plot panels with one or two interspersed frames of actual sexy-stuff that never went anywhere to get here? It's too drawn out given the artist's output capacity, Lemon's really good at making shorts with a singular setting (been a fan since Greedy Succubus got posted back in '11), but if they're gonna broaden the scope like this, they really need to learn how to convey the same information in a more compressed manner. It's spread too thin, doesn't provide enough to maintain my interest, I remember thinking back at the beginning of 2014 "this is going a little slow, I'll just let it wrap up before jumping into it" - now, two years later, I've started to associate it with all the other perpetually-ongoing western series that camp the front pages of searches and make me sigh whenever I see them again.

It really bugs me, because Lemon's otherwise my absolute favorite western artist and I hate to criticize them because their art's absolutely phenomenal, but I just can't get into this anymore. Maybe I'm the only one, IDK, one or two people seem to have expressed similar sentiments but maybe we're the minority. Been wanting to say something for quite some time, though.
