Either Nick hugged her way too hard, or it's a bit of commentary on how getting shot while wearing a vest tends to be rather...underplayed in media. In real life there's a good chance it'll still hurt like hell once the adrenaline wears off :P.

Clearly none of you have ever been on pain meds. That's 8 Oxycontin a day, the drug that's more or less banned now because of how strong it was which led to it being sold on the streets for people to get high with. Now they come in much smaller doses if they're still prescribed, but that many painkillers and Judy's gonna be high as a kite assuming it's the full strength version.

Not a har har kinda joke but just a "this is going to hurt" kinda joke. Mildly dark humor about how bad it hurts to have broken ribs once your adrenaline wears off.

Getting hit in soft armor hurts like a son-of-a-bitch. It's pretty common to break ribs with even 9mm handgun rounds, .380 will still leave a really nasty bruise. As this link will show.
