Why is this being brought up on a porn comic? Well anyway... SEX is what we call the differences in physical genitalia and form that marks male and female animals, humans included. GENDER is a sociological term used to define how a culture views the differences between male and female and the terms we use to designate the difference. Nature only affects sex, not gender, just as nature does not name male humans 'men' or female humans 'women', that is part of our language which was developed over millennia to define and convey information which we use to run a functioning society.

Now you can argue that their SHOULD be only two genders and that deviating from that goes against gender being a marker that only covers the differences in sex, but you CANNOT say that nature defines gender. That is a factually incorrect statement and only makes the people who try to use that as a tool in debating transgender issues look silly. I am not condemning you for your believes, though I don't agree with them, but I am pointing out that before you go spouting off buzz words you might want to read even a SINGLE FUCKING DEFINITION OF THE WORDS YOU ARE USEING! Your getting bent out of shape over people 'misusing pronouns' without understanding that you your self have no idea what the word gender means!

Technically speaking these were not synonymous but in actuality they may as well have been according to colloquial usage reformatting the terminology. It's been only since the turn of the century that gender has expanded past the biologically defined male and female and as of yet has no scientific support for what has been called "Tumblrisms" otherwise.

Are there people that sincerely and biologically feel they are neither female nor male? Of course. Are they another gender? They shouldn't be, they should be called what they truly are: mentally ill. This is not a statement of hate or dismissal but a statement of objectiveness. It is factually a mental condition and as someone with many mental illnesses I wouldn't take offense to someone simply pointing that fact out. Derogatory remarks only become so in context.

This all said, yeah this is really no place for this type of discussion. We need more memes.
