Nope. This is a Japanese doujin. Christmas in Japan is seen as a holiday for romance and fun, people go out for intimate dates or party with friends. This is why there are hundreds of doujins where the girl dresses-up in Christmas colors for her boyfriend on their Christmas date. Pretty much what's happening in this doujin.

New Year's on the other hand is more of a traditional celebration very different from the Western variant. With a lot of traditions local to Japan, both religious, culinary and folk, and is usually spent with family.

Basically, the holidays look the other way around compared to the West. That's why you thought there was a dissonance between the cover and the contents.

Just to clarify, I'm not complaining about the color choice, I don't care much either way, I just thought it strange why the reference on the cover wasn't followed, and now I know the reason.

Thanks for specifying that, I guess? I'm not sure how those details are relevant in this particular discussion or why you brought them up. Because either way, those costumes were meant to be Christmas themed and it does make sense for them to be such, and that was my whole point.

@Ser6ljVolk. Because only The Cover is Christmas Themed but the overall Doujin is New Years Themed. That's why.

You should probably take another look at the Doujin. Having Mistersoftee color it Christmas Themed would have been completely asinine as he would have both had limited colors to work with and there's no actual reference for him to use. Just be greatful someone actually paid decent money to get this near 7 month old B&W and Textless gallery colorized.

In the Doujin, Rouge and Vanilla are both wearing seductive and Busty Victoria's Secret Style Lingerie with Winter Themes to Seduce and get Miles off. Not Christmas Themed.

During Christmas Eve in Japan, Businesses like Love Hotels,Hotels,Restaurants all have spikes in revenue during Christmas Eve, in fact you forgot something: Christmas Eve in Japan has a traditional Custom where Japanese Men propose to their Girlfriends.
