I noticed some Touhou doujin have Dai-chan carry the essence of the Goddess fairy.
There is one on Danbooru where a suicidal old woman who misses her daughter comes across the naive and innocent child fairy. A hurricane/tsunami plagues her town and Dai-chan's Goddess essence saves the old woman.
This is all fan interpretation though and considering the word "Dai" in the name "Daiyuosei", it isn't surprising some fans have decided to cook up this cool concept of what seems to be an ordinary fairy turns out to be something more.
