So I saw this gallery: https://e-hentai.org/g/1143895/f58621e09f/
And found that Moketa's work got translated into English... badly.
The title is wrong. The guy's name is wrong.
If you can't translate, then don't do translation bounties, Black_Viper.

So at the cost of having a lab due on Monday and a paper due on Tuesday, I went ahead and translated this.
Because it's Moketa's work, it deserves my undivided attention.

Notable Differences From The Other Gallery:

- Guy's name is Akihito.
- Girl's name is Akai Mikan. (Akai is the last name that means the color red. Mikan is the first name that means the fruit tangerine.)
- On pg. 2, the guy didn't want to "play the break up game." Instead, he thought they would go separate ways after playing around like always. No progress for 3 months, remember?

I should apologize for sounding too mean to you. I'm sorry. It's just that without knowing much about you but the fact that you accepted a bounty for translation when the result isn't that good just bothers me a bit. Furthermore, Moketa's one of my favorite artists so yeah... you see where I'm coming from. I just feel like the readers who read your version and take it for granted that everything is the way it is might have different impressions of the characters and the author. For example like @Xigbarounet said below, getting pissed off at Akihito for attempting to break up with Mikan.

There IS one thing I have to thank you for though. It's the fact that you attempt motivated me to translate again. If you look at my uploads, the last time I translated something was well over a year ago. I just don't have enough will power to finish anything these days. Again, sorry for being too condescending. You tried your best and I jumped to the conclusion that you did the bounty purely for the credits.

PS. I guess I see where you're coming from with the title. In my opinion, Mikan thinks she is familiar with sex like on Pg. 3 and 4. That's the whole reason they had sex. Mikan, the innocent and pure girl who thinks she is familiar with sex when she really doesn't. Hence, the irony in the title: Mikan is Familiar with Sex.

I just checked the first few pages of both translations. Hinagiku Katsura is right. The other one is way off the mark.

There are odd points in this one too, but it's much closer.

Hmm, knew the translation was a bit liberal in places, but I guess it was more liberal than I thought.
(To be fair, for the english title the translator wanted to go with something less literal since it doesn't translate well, which is fine imo.)

That thing with the names clears things up though. Was told that Akihito was his nickname as he introduced himself as Akai. This makes more sense :P

Nice to get a more accurate translation... Now for all the other untranslated works :3 (Do it!)

But after reading this wonderous work i was like : "That mouth s still virgin... virgin cute fang mouths rules"

Hey Hinagiku, sorry to see you were so disappointed in my translation. I confess it was my first one ever, and I am still in the process of learning Japanese. I know that your biggest gripe is with the Title being wrong, and I'd like to assure you that I did at first come to the same title you did "Mikan-chan is Familiar with Sex", however, after talking it over with lacus1 we decided not to go with that name and try to come up with a more fitting one. As for mistranslating the guy's name, it was just a misunderstanding of how "hito" was being used here. Knowing that "hito" generally refers to the word person or man, I had thought she was shortening his name as a sort of nickname. Clearly in retrospect, this was a misjudgement on my part due to sheer inexperience.

Then of course there's the fact that the translation on its own felt very stiff in some parts. I still stand by that, some of the dialog here feels very stiff when directly translated, whereas it's clearly supposed to be more freeflowing between both characters. I absolutely did take some liberties in certain places, but not enough that it should have affected the actual intention of the characters. It seems my misunderstanding of certain contexts might have lead to some mistranslations however, which was never my intent. As an example, in page 2 I had thought he was saying that he might have to break up with her today, when instead he was saying that something has to happen today. I had thought that the thing to happen was him making a decision on the relationship, not him hoping she'd try something.

That being said, I wasn't attempting to string anyone along here, I made it very clear that this was my first time translating anything at the time of submission, and lacus1 was very understanding of that. I apologize if my translation offended you in some way, but we all have to start somewhere. All that aside, good job on your translation.

Really, I don't see a need fir the condescending tone. I enjoy this one better, but I think it'd be better if we could discuss translations without a high horse.

No worries mate, apology totally accepted. I know your heart was in the right place, I'm sure I'd feel the same way if someone butchered one of my favorite artist's works. As anyone who has ever attempted to translate Japanese knows, it's an exceptional complex language that can easily be mistranslated, and I'm glad you can understand where I was coming from.
