Ironically enough, the series actually (and vocally so) seems to be against the ideas of Trannies. Ranma vehemently denies that he is a girl when a girl and makes it clear that he is different from the actual trannies shown in the manga. And again, ironically say all those fanfics that try to make Ranma accept being a girl always seem to make the whole "you are still you" no matter the gender, which is of course bullshit. Ranma is different as a girl and has a different brain and could in fact even be considered a different person with the same set of memories as the male original version.
